THE INDIE COMMITTEE
Being an independent musician is not an ordinary career choice. It takes passion, dedication, fearlessness and often many years of blood, sweat, and tears to succeed. Deciding to stay independent versus signing to a major label is now becoming standard and we want to celebrate music creators that courageously walk this path. #Drive
Welcome to the Indie Committee, a pioneering organization for independent artists, songwriters, producers, DJs, engineers and music professionals. Indie Committee members have the opportunity to impact the landscape of music today and tomorrow. Our mission is to ensure that independent artists are supported and that their music remains respected and unfading.
As a member you will be invited to all HRDRV sponsored events and shows, you will have access to exclusive networking opportunities, and you will be responsible for casting votes for nominees and winners of The Drive Awards.
We are at the forefront of the new music industry, where musicians are now beginning to understand that they can and should want to control their own careers. We founded the Indie Committee to support the passion and dedication of these musicians and we aim to become the premier representation of independent creators around the world. We are to independent musicians what the Recording Academy is to major label artists.
We look forward to shaping music history with you.
The Indie Committee membership is community-driven and peer-reviewed. All eligible candidates are accepted upon application, however senior members can choose to remove members from the committee at any time if deemed necessary.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Any musician or music professional 18 years of age or older is eligible to become a member of the Indie Committee.
Yes, you can join the committee if you are already an artist, songwriter or producer on HRDRV.
What does it mean to be an Indie Committee member?
Being a member of The Indie Committee means you will be a valuable participant in determining nominees for the Drive Awards (April 21st of every year) and narrowing down final winners. Final winner decisions are based on highest vote count by committee members and fans in conjunction with other qualifying factors.
Similar to the GRAMMYs Recording Academy membership fee, The Indie Committee's membership fee is $25 per year. Much less than our counterpart.
